Nordic Gal Designs is the one-person studio of Michelle Carlson, a rosemaling artist. This page explains what the website collects, why, and how to have it removed. It is written plainly on purpose.
We ask for as little as possible, we do not sell anything about you, and we do not share your details with anyone outside the services listed below.
Only what you type in yourself. There are two places to do that.
You can look at the gallery and read the whole site without giving us anything. We do not run advertising, and we do not use tracking or analytics services to follow visitors around.
When you enter your email address, we send you one message with a confirmation link. You are not on the list until you click it. If you never click it, the sign-up simply lapses and we do not write to you again.
The studio is small, but the website runs on services from Microsoft:
Email from the studio is sent from the studio's own business mailbox, hello@nordicgaldesigns.com, and replies come back to the same place.
Michelle uses a computer writing helper to help turn her rough notes into finished newsletter text. It only ever sees what she has written for the newsletter. The mailing list, your email address, and your messages are never sent to it.
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you are off the list; you do not need to explain why. You can also write to hello@nordicgaldesigns.com and ask, and we will take you off by hand.
When you unsubscribe, we keep a record that your address asked not to be written to, so that it never gets added back by mistake. That record is not used for anything else.
Write to hello@nordicgaldesigns.com and say you would like your details deleted. Please write from the address you signed up with if you can, so we know it is you. We will remove what we hold and write back to confirm.
Your email address stays on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 7 days. Contact-form messages sit in the studio mailbox as ordinary email for as long as they are useful for answering you and keeping track of a commission, and we delete them when you ask.
This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If you think a child has signed up, write to us and we will remove the details.
If the way we handle any of this changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
